Endless Summer

I'm really not sure how I missed this one before - I took it about 1.5 years ago. It wasn't really summer when I took this but I think it has that feel.

Yes, I know...yet another Manhattan Beach sunset...good thing I don't live somewhere like Rancho Cucamonga...these pictures would be really boring!

Dude, My Turn

This is another image, like the Ominous pics, that looks much better when you click through to the larger image. I counted something like 18 surfers lined up on this wave!

San Jose, Costa Rica

I like the almost timeless quality of this picture. It seems like it could have been taken 50 years ago, not 10. The original image was black and white, by the way - I didn't alter it for effect.

I looked out my window and noticed a flock seagulls flying - many more than usual - so I grabbed my camera to snap a few shots. This is one of the results.

Because the sun was lower on the horizon than the earlier version of this picture, the colors are much more vibrant. The cloud cover had also moved, making this version more dramatic.

I deliberately pushed the processing on this a little bit to
get more texture, trying to bring out the spatial feeling of the clouds.

I debated whether or not to increase the contrast and make the clouds stand out more, but I like it better this way. Tomorrow's shot has a bit more contrast anyway.
